The polar bear-like sparkle of raccoon tail hair is a great alternative to calf tail, squirrel tail, and bear hair.
It can be used in many patterns, not exclusive to Charlies, Gotchas, tarpon fly collars, shrimps and other crustacea, Gurgler tails, and bucktail-type streamer patterns.
Every tail is unique but they're typically 12” (30 cm) long with hair length up to 2.5” (55mm). The bleached tails will sometimes have broken tips on the very longest guard hairs due to the bleaching process.
