If a product is in stock, you will either see a green (good stock) or yellow (low stock) indicator below the selection menu.  Please pay close attention to the location of the item.  If a product is available in store, then you will see that noted below the add-to-cart button as "This item is available in-store at Bearsden, Taunton."  Some items that show as "in-stock" may not be immediately available in-store.  These are either in transit to the shop or available to drop-ship directly from the manufacturer to you.  Items that match this description will be noted "Item may be en route to the shop or available to ship direct."  Never hesitate to call ahead to confirm stock!

We’re often asked whether Bear’s Den offers military or veteran discounts, first responder discounts, senior discounts, guide or industry discounts, discounts for teachers or healthcare workers, cash discounts, price breaks on large purchases, or special package pricing when purchasing a complete outfit.

We completely understand why customers ask, and we sincerely appreciate our military members, veterans, first responders, and everyone who chooses to shop with Bear’s Den. However, as an authorized dealer for many of the leading brands in fly fishing, we are required to follow manufacturer pricing policies, including Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies and other dealer agreements. These agreements can limit our ability to simply create our own discounts on protected products.

For that reason, we generally cannot offer an additional discount because someone is paying cash, purchasing several items, buying a complete rod/reel/line package, making a large purchase, or belongs to a particular profession or group. We also can't simply throw in free merchandise as a way of getting around a manufacturer's pricing requirements.

There is, however, one very important exception: our Price Match Guarantee.

If another fly shop is legitimately selling the same product for less, we will gladly match their price. Our price-match policy applies to active listings for new, in-stock products at another fly shop. Discontinued merchandise, eBay listings, and unbranded products are excluded.

We also do not match general sign-up offers or blanket discounts such as “sign up and receive 10% off your first order” or “receive a free ___ with purchase.”

But if another fly shop is running a legitimate, current promotion on a qualifying product, we accept current fly-fishing-shop promotions. In other words, manufacturer pricing agreements may prevent us from inventing our own special discount, but they don't mean you should have to pay more to shop with Bear’s Den.

In addition to our Price Match Guarantee, manufacturers periodically authorize sales, promotions, rebates, bundles, and other special offers. We may also discount discontinued, closeout, or previous-generation merchandise when permitted.

The distinction is pretty simple: we can't always create a special price simply because someone asks for one, but we absolutely want to remain competitive with other legitimate fly shops.

If another fly shop has a qualifying current product advertised for less, bring it to us. If there's an authorized manufacturer promotion, we'll offer it. And when closeout or discontinued merchandise can be discounted, we'll offer those savings as well.

Our goal isn't to hide behind MAP pricing. It's to honor the agreements that allow Bear’s Den to remain an authorized dealer while making sure our customers receive a competitive price, genuine products, manufacturer warranty coverage, knowledgeable advice, and the service that comes with buying from Bear’s Den.
