PERFECTING PERFORMANCE / LIGHT-WEIGHT FEATURES

 Peak-performing multipurpose reels that cover the complete range of fly-fishing applications from high-country trout to hang-on-for-hell Alaskan kings. The ultra-light SHIFT LT comes equipped with Sage's proprietary, Pacific  Northwest-sourced, sealed-carbon drag package [SGS), featuring a new sealing system with redundant internal seals to block water intrusion and internal corrosion. A numbered One Revolution Drag Knob, found throughout the series,  enables easy adjustment and provides reliable, consistent, and repeatable drag pressure. With 39 individual settings - each accessible through a single rotation of  the drag knob - anglers can effortlessly tune the system to suit the specific  target species at large.  

SHIFT LT reels pair a robust, sealed carbon-drag system with an ultralight, cold  forged rigid frame and spool for powerhouse performance - and then some.  Available in sizes ranging from 3/ 4 to 9/10, there's a SHIFT LT for every application  where strong, lightweight precision provides the edge.

SCS Drag Package

With its smooth engagement and consistent, dependable, and repeatable pressure, Sage’s Sealed Carbon System (SCS) drag allows you to fish with confidence knowing your tippet is protected. Proprietary high-grade US-made carbon handles high pressure and quickly dissipates the kinetic energy of that running fish into thermal energy. Tailored configurations allow us to create specific drag systems for each model, size, and fishing application, and the entire system is sealed to keep out water, sand, grit, and salt.

EXCLUSIVE USA CARBON

SHIFT LT’s drag discs are made with proprietary US-made carbon, the same material used in the brakes of jets and F1 race cars. We use carbon for our drag system because it’s the most efficient material for dissipating extreme heat without wear. Unlike alternative drag components such as cork or plastic, or even polymers like Delrin® and Rulon®, carbon does not compress, deteriorate, melt, or burn. It allows us to create compact drag systems that are high performance, stable, durable, and repeatable.
