The GTS 7/8 is the technical heart of the GT Series, built for anglers who demand precise control and smooth, reliable performance in light saltwater and heavy freshwater. Its fully sealed architecture and GTX-derived drag system deliver exceptional consistency, with a wide, finely tunable drag range designed to protect light tippets while still offering serious stopping power.

Stronger, lighter, and more responsive than the NV-G series it replaces, the GTS features a refined frame, seamless left- to right-hand retrieve conversion, and a highly intuitive drag knob. The first turn delivers the majority of usable drag for delicate presentations, while additional turns quickly bring the power needed for larger fish.

With a 4” diameter and Giga arbor, the GTS 7/8 offers fast line pickup and ample backing capacity for everything from trout to bonefish. The frame is also compatible with the 5/6 spool, giving anglers a versatile, multi-fishery setup. Integrated backing markers and clear spool identification make rigging fast and precise, rounding out a reel built for anglers who expect control without compromise.

Line-Class-Tuned Drag System. Drag behavior engineered specifically to the line weight, not a one-size-fits-all curve. Fully sealed and derived from the flagship GTX platform.
GTS Drag (5 to 8 weight). Dual-turn system. First turn 0 to 4 pounds for 5 to 6 weight finesse. Second turn 4 to 12 pounds for 7 to 8 weight power.
GTR Drag (8 to 11 weight). Single-turn system. Zero to 12 pounds in one full rotation. Reinforced spring and additional washer for added power.
Lightweight, Rigid Frame. Engineered for saltwater durability without the weight penalty.
Integrated Backing Markers. Machined directly into the spool. Fill your line to the exact yardage without measuring.
Giga Arbor Spool. Fast line pickup and faster drying.
24mm Socket-Compatible Spool Cap. Standard 15/16 inch socket removes a stuck cap cleanly.
