Intro Freshwater Fly Tying Class
Saturday, December 12th from 12:30 to 2:30pm
$25 to reserve, $25 Bears Den gift card rebate for attendance
Open to all ages (parental supervision required for young children)
Join us for an exciting opportunity to learn the basics of fly tying! Instructor Fred Monohan has organized a two hour course that will be broken into two parts. The first part will be a presentation overview of various types of flies and what they are intended to imitate. The second portion of the class will be fully dedicated to hand-on tying instruction. Participants will learn how to tie one of the most famous and fundamental patterns in fly-fishing history; the wooly bugger. If time allows, a second pattern will be offered as well; the Peacock & Brown soft hackle. The class is $25 to reserve, but all those in attendance will be credited back with a $25 Bears Den gift certificate. A great opportunity to start accumulating some tools and materials to get started on your own!
About Fred: “I have been teaching fly tying as part of Fly Fishing Merit Badge since 2003. The weekend Fly Fishing Merit Badge class ran each Spring from 2003 until covid shut us down in 2020.
