Spey casting can be done with any fly rod and Scientific Anglers Spey Lite Lines help bring this technique to all fly fishers. Whether for light two-hand use in smaller streams or single-hand applications for trout and smallmouth, these lines are designed to maximize the benefits of Spey casting in fishing situations.
Spey Lite Lines are offered in two taper configurations as both an add-on shooting head and a fully-integrated line. The Skagit Lite Lines are available in grain weights 180 – 420 in 30 grain intervals. They have a short, powerful taper for turning over larger air-resistant or weighted patterns. They will also handle Sonar Leadersas well as the shorter (8’-10’) TC Tips depending on the grain weight of the line. The one-piece, integrated line eliminates loops making casting and retrieving flies more enjoyable
Spey Lite Scandi Lines have an extended front taper for a more delicate presentation with smaller flies. They can be used with both Absolute Leaders and Sonar Leaders, and are also available for 180 – 420 grains. Both the Spey Lite Skagit and Scandi Lines marker on the line to help identify where to start the cast. These also feature Welded Loops
Where steelhead, trout, or smallmouth are the target, both of these lines provide nearly unlimited versatility in tight quarters where quick casting and line control are critical. From small flies on the surface, to swinging or stripping streamers on sink tips, Spey Lite Lines will get the job done. These lines also feature Welded Loops and SA ID.
