Mike Rice "Mud Dog Flies"
Mike Rice still ties a few flies when he's not working in the wood shop at Jill Mason Art or walking the mud somewhere with an eight-weight, camera and notebook looking for the next untold story to bring to light.

An albie pattern for the northeast but catches just about anything.
Dean Clarke showed Mike a pattern in 2012. Mike changed up the materials and tying process, and viola - the DC12 was born. Originally tied for albies on juvenile peanut bunker on a fast albie strip, if you look at it long enough and short stagger the strip it imitates shrimp.
Primary: albies, striped bass, shad, bluefish
BUT: We have caught as many secondary species on it such as tarpon, snook, redfish, jack crevalle, weakfish, sea trout, largemouth bass, chain pickerel
