On Sunday June 8 we have the Jim Gariepy Fly Fishing Event. The event is a one day catch and release contest. Each participant selects three copies of one specific fly pattern and hook size. Each participant will measure and tally their own fish. The largest total length of trout in several categories will win awards! The event will take place at the Zoar Picnic Grounds located in Rowe on Zoar Road just upriver from Rowe Road, Pelham Brook and the railroad underpass. We will post more info for registering as it becomes avaialable.
We will be offering opportunities for beginning fly anglers to learn skills like casting, presentation, rigging, reading water and safe wading throughout the day. Lunch will be served along the river.
