Echo2 Scandinavian Rods

The Echo2 Scandinavian series of fly rods were designed by Tim Rajeff in response to the growing demand for fast action two hand rods to throw shooting heads. Each Echo2 Scandinavian rod is precisely designed to allow shorter casting strokes than is possible with longer, softer rods. Scandi style rods have been growing in popularity due to their ease of use and the incredible range of fishing styles they cater to. Whether you're overhead casting in the surf, swinging Skagit heads, or skating muddlers with your own home-grown line, the Echo2 Scandinavian rods can deliver.

Echo2 Scandi rods come in a rich "red wine" colored gloss blank with a full range of high-end components. The high-grade cork handle comes in a modified full-wells design. The stripping guides are made with a new extra hard "illusion plasma coating system" in titanium coated frames. To top it off, each Echo2 Scandi rod comes with two tips, an "A" tip for accuracy and a "D" tip for distance. How 'bout them beans?

That’s right, each Echo2 rod comes with 2 tips: at tip marked A, optimized for accuracy, and a tip marked D, designed for distance. The distance tip is the stiffer of he two. Use it to lift sinking lines to the surface and throw longer lines more easily. Use it if you have a more aggressive casting stroke. The accuracy tip is softer and allows the rod to load with less line for close-range presentations. It is the preferred tip for casters who want to “feel the rod load” sooner in the casting stroke and take full advantage of the Echo2’s overall power.

All Echo2 rods share a number of high-performance features, including:

  • Intermediate-modulus blanks for exceptional durability and strength-to-weight ratio
  • Titanium-coated stripper guide frames with extra-hard Illusion Plasma-coated inserts
  • Hard-Chrome snake guides
  • High-grade cork grips and fighting butts shaped appropriately for each application
