Abel Super Series Large Arbor Reels

We did not invent the Large Arbor reel, but we’ve been making them for 12 years, which certainly makes us pioneers. We have developed the perfect ratio of arbor (hub) size to the overall spool. Too big a hub and there’s not enough backing capacity; too small and you’ve defeated the purpose of a large arbor spool. Ours? Just right!

Super Series reels size 6 and larger now come with a new and improved double pawl system for greater reliability and a sound to die for!

All Super Series reels come standard ported (ventilated) using a "rounded oblong" design that maintains total strength and rigidity in the metal. They're light, yet retain all of Abel's traditional strength and integrity. Super Series reels are also available with a solid frame if you wish – same price. (All weights given are for standard ported models.)

Reels also have the option of coming with a rosewood, ebony, zebra, walnut, or NEW Aluminum handle.

With Abel's unique InterchangeABELity of spools and frames, it substantially increases your options. InterchangeABELity means spools from the Big Game Series fitting into the frames of Large Arbor Super Series and vice versa.
