Orvis Mirage Fluorocarbon Tippet |
| Pay attention hen buying fluorocarbon materials. Some are blended with nylon, minimizing the benefits of fluorocarbon: abrasion resistance and low visibility. Pure fluorocarbon Mirage has the highest abrasion resistance of any leader or tippet material. A refractory index .09 different from that of water makes it virtually invisible. With a specific gravity of 1.76, Mirage breaks surface tension quickly, eliminating surface shadow in topwater presentations and sinking quicker than nylon, making it ideal when used for subsurface presentations. Fluorocarbon materials retain their know and tensile strength in water.
Invisible to Fish—Incredible Abrasion Resistance—Excellent Knot Strength
Mirage is not another nylon tippet material. Mirage is made from an extremely high-grade quality of PVDF (polyvinylidenfluoride). It is less visible in the water, absorbs less water, and has higher wet knot strength than comparable nylon. It is significantly more abrasion-resistant than nylon.
MIRAGE PURE FLUOROCARBON TIPPET
Free. 30% more tippet material than any competitive tippet!
Ideal for all Saltwater fishing, plus steelhead and Atlantic salmon. Also for freshwater nymping and dry-fly fishing where trout are leader shy. Line retainer on each spool. |
